Perhaps the best way to care for ourselves, our babies, our families, is to deeply nourish ourselves as Mothers during the season of darkness. At Life Song, we are creating communities of Mothers and Babies and Families, nurturing them with wonderful and unique class offerings and services. Spend some of the dark days, deeply nestled into your cave. And spend at least one day per week nurturing yourself in community. Check out Breastfeeding Cafe, come in and weigh your baby, take a Breastfeeding Class, nourish your deep self with a massage. You’ll see, your whole family, and all you touch, will benefit from the gentle practice of deeply nourishing yourself.

Autumn turns toward Winter
Light softens, days shorten, nights, shivery and cold
Leaves swirl to the ground
caught in invisible gusts
Fires and candles softly light the evening
Soups are made from brightly colored squashes and root vegetables
Sipping hot tea and rubbing their bellies
Women wait for their babies to arrive
Wondering, Wondering
New parents rock and shush and soothe their milk-drunk babes
as the darkness of this inward season settles in.
