These are just some of the books on my bookshelf that I whole-heartedly recommend for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Birthing From Within
by Pam England and Rob Horowitz
This is the book and the practices that have changed my life. My classes are based on these teachings, and my life has been forever nourished by the trainings and mentorship I receive from Birthing From Within. If you have not read this book, please do. Birthing From Within is more than just about “Birth.” It is about parenting, relationships, and life. Love it! Love her way of approaching the childbearing year – a spiritual guide. It is the required book for my childbirth classes.
Eating for Two
by Robin Lim
Wonderful nourishing foods for pregnancy and beyond.
After the Baby’s Birth
by Robin Lim
Excellent postpartum reference. I enjoy anything Robin writes.
The Birth Parter
by Penny Simkin
For dads/partners, doulas, and anyone caring for women during their labor and birth.
Pregnancy, Child, and the Newborn
by Penny Simkin, Janet Whalley, and Ann Keppler. A well-written and very balanced book for many childbirth preparation classes.

I love this book. It is deep, rich, and luscious birthing info for birth professionals and mamas.
Gentle Birth Choices
by Barbara Harper
A natural birth advocate, gentle and honest.
Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth

I encourage all my doula clients to read this book.
